When the largest health care provider in South Carolina realized its websites were dying, they didn't call 9-1-1; they called NewQuest. When we arrived on the scene, Palmetto Health's eight separate websites were lacking vital signs. The sites were a mishmash of previous efforts, created without a common objective, and were confusing to navigate. As a result, the client lacked a uniform corporate 'identity' on the web. The executive management of Palmetto Health recognized this and contracted with us to help resuscitate the sites. We recommended major surgery. In an operation which took seven months to complete, all of Palmetto Health's existing websites were consolidated into one master site. To do this, we devised a completely new, more friendly 'look and feel' for the new site, and a clean and easy-to-use site navigation system. The project was a team effort. Working closely with in-house information technology personnel, including a web programmer and a graphic designer, and with input from Palmetto Health's marketing staff, the old sites were converted to the new format. Major new creative content and programs were added in many areas. The operation was a success. Palmetto Health's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Mr. Timothy L. Thompson, had this to say to our President, Ron Wells, about the NewQuest effort...
Palmetto Health wanted a site which would offer up-to-date health information and encourage web visitors to visit more than once. To accomplish this, considerable new content was added to the site, including birth announcements and photos for all three of this client's major hospitals, the ability to order online from each hospital gift shop, daily outdoor health updates, an "Ask a Question, Get An Answer" health information response system, and online patient scheduling for routine procedures. |
